1. Brief Introduction of Anhui Normal University
Founded in 1928, Anhui Normal University (AHNU) is the oldest institution in Anhui Province. It is located in Wuhu City which is adjacent to Shanghai and Nanjing and well-known as a land of fish and rice and nested in the southern bank of the Yangtze River. AHNU has benefitted from the spirit of the nature of the south of the Yangtze River and cherished the spirit of the humanities in Anhui. Anhui Normal University is a university jointly built by the Anhui Provincial People’s Government and the Ministry of Education, a university benefitting from the national “Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in Central and Western China”, a provincial key comprehensive university given priority by the Anhui Provincial Committee and the provincial government, and a key university with Anhui characteristics.
Presently, AHNU possesses 8 PhD first-level subjects, 6 post-doctoral research stations, 30 master degree first-level subjects, 15 authorization units for master’s degree, 18 provincial key subjects, 3 provincial major programs of subject construction and 92 undergraduate majors.
AHNU is one of the first universities in the country to be allowed to enroll foreign students who enjoy Chinese government scholarship. It is also one of national Chinese language education bases for the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council’s and the location of Anhui Province Chinese International Promotion Center.

2. Brief Introduction of the College of International Education
The College of International Education is an authorized department specializing in the enrollment, education and management of affairs for international students. The college has advanced teaching facilities, complete living facilities and professional teaching faculty. At present, the college can cultivate undergraduates of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. The college is also responsible to arrange international students to pursue their bachelor’s, master’s or even doctor’s degree studies in other colleges of this university. Since 1985, the college has received more than 5,000 long or short-term international students from nearly 100 countries and regions, and has established long-term friendship and academic exchanges with dozens of universities, scientific research institutions and academic groups in the United States, Britain, Germany, Russia, Finland, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Cuba and other countries and regions. The college has always been open to the world, facing the future and aiming at providing international students with rich experience and high level of Chinese language education. As the only institute for conducting Chinese language teaching to international students in AHNU, the College of International Education has built up a group of professional teachers since 1990. All teachers are above master-degree holders in the major of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language or other related majors. Many of them were selected by the Chinese government to teach Chinese abroad, and they are first-class teachers with profound Chinese language and literature knowledge and rich international teaching experience. The College of International Education has advanced teaching facilities and a moderate scale of international students. The college has formed a model of “teaching in small classes, classified guidance, elective courses and after-class activities to assist teaching” so to ensure every student to get good opportunity of education and services. Our college students’ Chinese proficiency test scores have been always on top among students in other universities of Anhui Province, and one of our students once won the first prize in HSK Proficiency Test in Nanjing area. The college has set up a HSK network test site approved by Hanban in Anhui Province, and has made it easier for our international students to take the Chinese proficiency test.
3. Study Programs and Majors
(1)Self-financed student
a. Short-term language and culture learning
Period of study: 30 days to 180 days. Students will be classified into different classes according to their academic level. The students from the same group can be taught in one class solely.
Admission and application time: Enrollment is in spring and autumn every year. The registration time is the same as that of long-term language students;
Content of course: Intensive Chinese, Daily Conversation, Tai Chi, Calligraphy, Painting, Chinese Folk Music, Chinese Traditional Sports and Health Care, Folk Customs Culture, HSK Intensive Training and so on.
Cultural tourism activities: We will arrange various kinds of visits, such as visits to the Yangtze River, places of interest in Wuhu, scenic spots of Anhui province such as the Yellow Mountain, Jiuhua Mountain, Xidi and Hongcun. You can also travel to Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Shanghai and other cities around the Anhui Province.
b. Long-term Chinese language learning (including bachelor’s degree student and long-term advanced student)
Period of study: 180 days to 4 years with several class-hours learning every week. Students will be classified into different classes according to their Chinese test level.
Admission and application time: Enrollment is in spring and autumn every year. The registration time is from the beginning of March to June 30th, and from the beginning of October to December 20th.
Compulsory course: Intensive Reading, Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Newspaper Reading, Chinese Culture and so on.
Elective course: Grammar Tutorial, Chinese Pronunciation, HSK Examination Skills Counseling, Chinese Traditional Culture, Chinese Martial Arts, Calligraphy, Painting and so on.

Short-term language learning programs
The charge for short-term language learning programs is based on the teaching content and time.
Long-term learning programs
(a).Enrollment fee: 400 RMB per person, which should be paid in full at one time while sending the application form.
(b).Teaching material fee: The charge is based on the actual fee, beginning-level and intermediate-level students need to pay about 300 RMB per semester, undergraduate student need to pay about 400 RMB per semester.
(c).Tuition: When the student arrives, tuition should be fully paid at one time. The general tuition fees are as follows. Detailed fees are shown in the related table.
Non-degree students (including language learning training): 12,000 RMB per year
Undergraduate of Liberal Art: 12,000 RMB per year.
Undergraduate of Science: 14,000 RMB per year.
Music and Art Undergraduate: 18,000 RMB per year.
Master of Arts: 16,000 RMB per year
Master of Science: 18,000 RMB per year
Doctor of Arts: 18,000 RMB per year

(a) For Master or PhD Program, students need first of all to find supervisor in Anhui Normal University, and then to ask the supervisor for a letter with his/her signature. (The format is not necessarily fixed, but the supervisor must sign on it).
(b) For students applying for CSC scholarship, please send your CV (electronic edition), advisor recommendation letter (for Master or Doctor degree), your passport (scanned file), long-term study application form, health form and letter of good conduct to us at ahnuliuban@163.com. We will give the outstanding students the pre-admission notice after we examined the qualifications.
(c) Preparing materials and other affairs for applying CSC scholarship need to be consistent with the requirements of the CSC.
(d) Take all the materials (especially the pre-admission notice) to the Chinese embassy in your country, and fill the applications form (Type A) online on CSC website.
(e) If the student is accepted, the student could wait for CSC’s notice and get JW201 form and admission notice.

Between the ages of 16-35 on September 1st. Applicants currently worked as Chinese language teachers shall not exceed the age limit of 45, while undergraduate applicant shall not exceed the age limit of 25 when applying for the scholarships.
(b) Scholarship Types and Qualifications
The student of one year (Including majored in Chinese Language and Literature)
Enrolled in September, the duration of funding is 11 months; international students in China are not eligible.
Chinese Language and Literature:
Chinese test scores reached HSK (Level 4) 180 points, HSKK (intermediate) 60 points.
Scholarship for One-Semester Study (including students in Chinese Language and Literature and Tai Chi Culture)
Commences either in September or March, and provides scholarship of maximum 5 months. Applicants withholding visas X1 or X2 are not eligible.
Chinese Language and Literature
Applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 in HSK test (Level 3), while HSKK test score required.
Tai Chi Culture
HSK test score are required. Student with HSKK test score will be preferred.
(c) Application Procedures
Applicants should log in to International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship (Confucius Institute Scholarship) website (cis.chinese.cn) within the allotted time.
Log in to the scholarship website, query the recommendation institutions and receiving institutions; submit application materials online, pay attention to the application process, review opinions and scholarship evaluation results; the scholarship winner confirm the receiving institution and check the procedures for studying in China, and print the award certificate online; enroll and register at the time specified in the acceptance notice of the receiving institution.
China Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center entrusts an expert group to conduct centralized evaluation: according to the HSK and HSKK examination scores and levels, and taking into account the country and other factors, the scholarship evaluation will be completed about 3 months before entering the University and give out the results.
c. Anhui Provincial Government Scholarship
We provide Anhui Provincial Government scholarships for students who studied in Anhui Normal University as undergraduates. We will select the students with outstanding performance.
